The Introduction of Morning Huddle

Our Moments of Silence.

Starting our day with stories,

music,

and puppets.

Morning Huddle.
This is a new part of our day. It is a chance for the Catbirds to gather briefly and talk about the day ahead. Friends will find out what resources we have and what kinds of special projects we will be working on. They have the opportunity to suggest activities for Choice Time and ideas/questions for study. Today, friends heard that we would be measuring and sawing boards for our magnetic wall border. Friends put in their names to dictate a new story and suggested some activities for both outside and inside time. Over time, friends will take over an increasing amount of responsibility for this morning planning time.

We will be working toward having Morning Huddle at 8:15 - particularly on days when we have early Resource classes scheduled.

Morning reading: Fall Isn't Easy and Strega Nona.

Calling the Catbirds.

Morning Meeting. We read three friends stories out loud. The Catbirds love to hear one another's stories.

  1. What a great group of young people, with a couple of terrific teachers to guide them. Thanks for posting these wonderful photos.
