Drawing Monsters
We drew monsters today. They are a perfect subject, as they can have as many or as few eyes, ears noses, arms and legs as the artist wishes to draw. Friends can be as creative as they like and those just learning to draw representationally don't have to worry about their picture not looking just write. Adding googley eyes made them extra special.
When We All Broke Our Arms and Learned What an Orthopedic Surgeon Is
Today a parent, who is also an orthopedic surgeon, came to talk with the Catbirds about what she does. The Catbirds have been very interested in playing doctors and thinking and talking about how bodies are put together and how they work. They have also been making casts out of paper and copious amounts of tape. Today, they each got a real cast in a bright color. There was much happiness in the Catbird classroom.
