Learning First Letter Sounds

We had some wonderful, imaginative play this morning, with complex family dynamics and rescue vehicles rushing about.

There was art being made.

And books being read.

Snack being prepared.

Music being played.

And dances being danced.

Then we headed outside.

Back inside for morning meeting, as we got ready for Choice Time.

Vicki introduced a new activity to expand our work with letter sounds.

Friends had to look at a picture, figure out the word and then sound out the first letter. Then they chose it from three possibilities, and marked it with a clothespin.

We also printed out pictures of our 2nd grade buddies and made some art with them to tak home so our families can see our new friends.
