How to Work Together

This morning, Kathy's 1st grade class came in to share the bears they had made. Bear Witness went to their room last week to model for them as they painted their cardboard bears. Then, on the backs of their bears, the 1st graders wrote and put pictures describing the ways that they witness in the world.

Each 1st grader shared their bears with us.

After, the Catbirds applauded and shared some of the similar things that we do.

Next, we gathered on the rug to talk about our next project. Catbirds were paired by randomly drawing their tree cookies. We had a discussion about ways to make decisions with another person, particularly if you have different ideas. Then, each pair picked an animal together and went off to build a house for it as a team.

Teachers spent time with each team, helpin them think and work together.

When they were finished, each pair explained their structure and the process of deciding how and what to make,

Then, we had snack and headed outside.

Next, it was time for art class.

We are working on creating animals from the Brown Bear, Brown Bear book.

After, we had a little more time outside before lunch.
