A Lesson in Meditation

Our early morning's are filled with play, as friends learn the vital skills of cooperation, negotiation and learning to see things from another's perspective.

At the same time, we work in small groups and one on one finishing/learning a variety of jobs and ongoing projects. Catbirds may be teaching younger friends new skills or helping to plan the next step of something we've been working on. This is often the time that we ask friends to engage in some problem solving, either around their play or figuring out how to do something that they have proposed.

Some friends were learning how to tie today.

Helping prepare snack.

Writing our menu on the board.

For Meeting for Worship this morning, friends laid on the rug and listened to a story called, "Moody Cow Meditates."

While there was very little meditating going on, friends did think about ways to calm down when the day has gone badly.

We had snack and then ate one of our Gingerbread Bear Witnesses.

A short run around outside before it was time for...

...Art class!

Amanda showed us how to sew using a needle, yarn and a plastic square with holes in it.

Amanda is so good at explaining projects so that tiny people can understand the steps.

Then, by popular request, we headed back outside so friends could enjoy the nice weather and get some fresh air and exercise.

Back inside, friends spotted a new book on the shelf and asked to hear it, So we had a story while getting ready for lunch.
