Adventures

Our morning began with Spanish class with Alicia!

We are learning to play Bingo in español.

First friends had to learn how to identify the numbers and put chips on them.

Then, to translate the numbers from Spanish.

The Catbirds love this game!

Right after Spanish, we headed over to the gym for the "Farewell to Hallowell" program.

Roo was there, and also one of the upper school students who narrated a brief history of the gym.

We met students from when AFS was an all girls school...

...and old man Hallowell himself!

We got to participate in old-school calisthenics.

There were basketball players in 70's uniforms.

Mister C...

...and Deb Stauffer, the early coaches.

Then Jeff Bond, who will lead our athletics program into the new facility.

Old man Hallowell returned from the beyond,

and we took down the banner to move to the new gym. Rich Nourie explained the timeline, and we were finished,

We had a little run around time.

Then back inside for some choice time.

Some friends showed off their latest creations, Transforming Magnatiles.

Then we packed up our wagon with lunches, and headed off on a lunchtime adventure.

We found some big bamboo poles and made some music with them.

.

When we arrived at the creek, we set up our lunches. Some friends ate on the bridge...

...some ate at the table...

...and some on the bank.

After the Catbirds finished eating, we had some time to explore.

One of our favorite challenges was using logs to cross the creek.

Friends explored different parts of the creek.

It was so much fun! We will be back soon!
