Telling Our Stories

Today we took the big "I Spy" board that we had made over to the Owls, and showed them how to use it. We made a list of all of the things they could find and laminated it, so that friends could check off items as they found them. The Owls were excited to use it and dove right in!

Back in Catbird land, there was a very complex "Babies" session going on, with many crying babies and way too few caregivers.

We decided to head outside early, because it was so beautiful outside, and to help us get ready for rehearsal time.

There was new sand in the sandbox and friends were excitedly making foot and hand and body and even face prints in it. Our shadows joined us.

There were also cakes being stirred up and ice cream being sold.

We stopped to study the leaves on some of our trees. These are shaped like hearts and we noticed that the little ones are shiny and the really little ones are folded in half.

Back in the sandbox, we started making sand sculptures. The Catbirds were bringing in leaves and sticks to make eyebrows and hair.

Then it was time for rehearsal. We are sounding SOOOOO good. Tomorrow, we will practice up on the stage, getting ready for the big show on Friday.

We came back and had Snack and Morning Meeting. We read a book called, Tumble Bumble, that rhymed. Friends tried to guess what the rhyming word would be, and made up their own rhymes.

For Choice Time, we had Inside Outside Day. Friends could work inside on their stories, or read books. All of the Catbirds are enjoying writing their own books, and they will have a chance to read them at Morning Meeting. Outside, there were all of the usual activities, as well as photography and drawing.
