Painting Exploration in Art Class

Hello Catbird Families,

Our Catbird artists have been very busy in the art studio this year. This week we began our first exploration of media, focusing on paint. We started out looking at different types of brushes, noticing their similarities and differences and using our observations to predict what kind of marks they would make.

Our Catbird artists then joyfully got to work, testing to see how many different types of marks they could make with their brushes. Some discoveries that were made along the way included new colors that were mixed, that when less water is used the color is darker and that if the brush is really dry you can make a smaller mark. We will be continuing to use different types of paint in our painting exploration!
