Monday
We brought some snow inside and some friends tried to fill their balloons with snow (with mixed success)
We filled the balloons with water. Then we built snow people.
The balloons went outside, to see what would happen
Tuesday
We checked out the balloons
Carol opened up the new tents.
We tried hammering our ice balloons.
And explored our new tents
Art class
We cut out pictures and created stories.
Storytime
Wednesday
Some nice people came to cover up the gap that was making the guinea pigs cold.
We supervised
A friend brought in a new kind of fruit - Rambutan - to share with us. We looked at it carefully and cut it up. Most of the Catbirds tried it and many of them liked it.
Music class. We learned some new songs and dances.
Thursday
Continuing our study of the human body, we watched and discussed a video about the heart and circulatory system.
Story time. We learned or relearned exclamation points.
We worked on finishing our papier mache hearts.
Friday
Today started with a now 5 year old Catbird's birthday (the cupcakes had a secret surprise inside!)
Then Carol decided to fold up all the Catbirds, but they kept coming undone.
We had a shape quiz on the Smartboard, and then we divided into groups. Some friends worked with Erica (our language and math specialist), some did a letter game in the hallway with Carly and some stayed to work some more on shapes, rhymes and beginning letters on the Smartboard with Carol.
We had some new coloring pages.
Lots of dress up.
Library time. Ashanti read us a story about a penguin and a crab on vacation.
Then we picked out new books for the classroom.
We finished our hearts. We will be making a display soon in the hallway.
It was a good week.
