Experiments and The Whiffenpoofs

The morning began with a wondrous start...

Amy finally returned, and (I have it on good authority) she was thrilled to be back with her Catbird family!

Buildings were constructed and playing commenced

At snack time, we had orange slices and many of the Catbirds' transformed into "orange faces."

Some were "apple faces..."

This photo, I'm not sure I can explain...

For Choice Time, we experimented with colored water, baby oil, and fizzy tablets

Our hypotheses were as follows:

"I think it's gonna float and turn around. If you move your finger high and close, it will go break apart" - J.C.

"I think the water will move around, and when it moves, it changes different colors like the other experiment we did" - L.S.

"I think it's gonna turn back into what it was before" - L.H.

"It's gonna turn into bubbles, then to smoke, then to popsicles" - N.G.

"It might turn into flubber" - M.Ca.

"It will fizz" - N.L.

"It's gonna bubble, then turn into clumpy things, then turn into a ghost" - M.Ch.

After lunch time, the Lower School had a very special assembly. The Yale a cappella group, "The Whiffenpoofs" visited our school and sang some of their songs.

The Catbirds really enjoyed the performance. They were amazed that all of the music was produced only with the singers' voices.

Below is a short clip of their performance:
